**Keighley Rd, Oxenhope, Keighley BD22 9HJ**
**Hours - 37.5 hours per week (full time or part time job share considered)**
**Salary - £**32,322 - £36,428 per annum**

We are currently recruiting for a Community Engagement Coordinator to be based at Sue Ryder Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice in Keighley.
**About the role**:
The Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC) will be responsible for increasing the reach of local palliative care and bereavement support services to all demographics of the local population. The CEC will build connections and trust with the local population such as faith communities, communities of interest, communities of place as well as organisations and groups that support individuals who experience multiple disadvantages and/or inequality, for example, people who are homeless, refugees or from LGBTQIA communities. The CEC will identify the needs of local people and barriers to them accessing palliative and end of life care and increase the diversity of community participation in Sue Ryder to help shape services that better meet individuals’ needs. The CEC will be embedded within the local community to bring the voice of those people into Sue Ryder and to help connect service users with people and organisations that can provide them with the right support in ways that meets their needs.
The Community Engagement Coordinator will work as part of the Wellbeing and Community Support Service, which is responsible for helping us to provide more of the support that people need, in more accessible ways, to more communities. The CEC will do this by:
- Engaging communities through a variety of community engagement, involvement, and empowerment techniques.
- Raising awareness of Sue Ryder and the services offered by Sue Ryder in the local population so they can make informed choices.
- Working collaboratively with local faith and community leaders, local organisations and other local groups and individuals to help shape palliative care and bereavement support services to better support the diverse needs of service users and those close to them.
**About you**:
You must be a car driver with access to a vehicle for work.
**Additionally, you should be able to demonstrate**:
- Strong experience of networking and building positive relationships.
- Ability to build trust with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and of different abilities through outreach work.
- Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
- Ability to identify services and sources of support that already exist in the local community as well as gaps in provision.
- Experience of directly involving people and communities in designing and delivering services (co-production).
- Ability to gather, process, analyse and present qualitative data (people’s stories and case studies) and quantitative data (numbers and statistics) in reports and presentations to evidence gaps in service provision and examples of good practice.
- Ability to talk sensitively and confidently about death, dying and loss.
- Experience of working independently and remotely.
- Ability to manage your own time and competing demands and meet agreed timescales.
- Competent IT skills.
