Digital Press Operator

**Job Overview**:
Press Green is a well-established creative print company, providing a wide range of printed marketing and display solutions for businesses & organisations in and around York.

After 31 years with the business - Steve, our press operator, is retiringSo, we’re now looking for a digital & large-format press operator to join our team - responsible for in-house print production and print finishing.

You will enjoy working with people and businesses, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be detail driven and have the ability to multitask effectively and calmly within a fast-paced environment.

As Press Operator, you will be responsible for:
**Digital & Large-Format Print Production**
- Pre-press and file setup using existing RIP software
- Operation of Xerox Versant digital press and HP Latex inkjet printers

**Print Finishing**
- Guillotining & trimming
- Creasing, folding & booklet making
- Assembly of pull-up banners & exhibition display graphics
- Mounting & Laminating
- Binding
- Packing & shipping of orders

**Materials & Ordering**
- Place orders for inks, toners & consumables
- Place orders for flat sheet papers, media & laminating rolls
- General inventory & stock management
- Ensuring finished print matches job specifications

**Maintenance & Troubleshooting**
- Perform routine maintenance & calibration processes, troubleshoot issues, and make adjustments as necessary to maintain optimal print quality and efficiency

**Quality Control**
- Check files for accuracy, and ensure print output meets required quality standards & specifications

**Systems & Teamwork**
- Work collaboratively with other team members, including designers, project managers, and finishing staff, to ensure seamless workflow and project completion.
- Update internal MIS, including; job status and costings

**Skills and previous experience required**
- Problem solving, working to deadlines and managing multiple projects at the same time
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- File management & pre-press
- Digital & large-format printing
- RIP printing software
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Acrobat

Full systems training and onboarding provided.
