Are you looking for experience in Electro/Mechanical Manufacturing we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Manufacturing Technician to join our Operations Team.

Location: Abingdon

Reporting to: Manufacturing Manager

**The Opportunity**:
The Trainee Manufacturing Technician will undergo extensive training at our Abingdon facility in the production activities that ensure our products meet internal and external customer requirements for performance and reliability. You will be responsible for supporting the building of all assemblies required to complete the build and test of a Rapid Probe Microscope system within the Operations team. The role would suit an energetic individual looking to progress their career in an Electro/Mechanical environment with opportunities for international travel.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Build and test sub-assemblies and tools to the required standard using production documents.
- Assembly of cable assemblies to IPC standards
- Ability to Solder to IPC Standards
- Assist the manufacturing team to maintain and improve process and manufacturing quality.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness within the production and cleanroom areas.
- Kitting of assemblies to the Bill of Materials when required.
- Support the Manufacturing team in maintaining Health and Safety standards across the business.
- Willing to learn new practices and techniques within the production environment.

**Personal Qualities**:
An individual with good hand to eye co-ordination who can demonstrate a high degree of manual dexterity and a high level of technical ability. Be able to think on their feet when required.

**Education / Qualifications**:

- An educational qualification (e.g. GCSE / HND) in a relevant discipline such as Electro-mechanical assembly
- Experience at a local level in Infinitesima’s core technology areas

**Professional Skills/ Abilities**:

- Essential_
- Excellent communication skills.
- Be able to Travel if Required (US Visa Required)
- Fluency in written and oral technical English
- Good computer skills.
- Experience of report writing.
- Looking for a career path within an engineering environment.
- Desirable_
- Experience of building and testing complex high technology products
- Experience of wiring/soldering to IPC standards
- Experience in manufacturing within the Semiconductor field would be a major advantage
- Experience of building and testing any or all of optical systems including lasers and fibres, electronics, electro-mechanics would be an advantage
- Experience of using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters etc.
- Experience of working within a Cleanroom environment
- Understanding of Quality Control and/or Manufacturing engineering
