This role would suit someone who is enthusiastic and thrives in a demanding environment. Knowledge of The Children’s Act and Safeguarding is key as you will be responsible for the children's safety and creating an enjoyable space to spend quality time with their non-resident parent or family member.

This role is a maternity cover contract.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead and manage contact sessions ensuring that the maximum number of contact sessions are undertaken each week
- Deliver structured group work and 1-1 sessions to help parents better understand their role as Parents and improve their parenting skills
- Observe, assess and interpret the verbal and non-verbal signs of the clients ensuring the safety of all persons attending the contact centre intervening promptly and appropriately should incidents occur
- Act as a member of the staff team of the Roberts Centre in co-operation with officers - attending meetings as required
- To prepare areas ready for contact sessions, with due consideration for security and safety, ensure that contacts have the appropriate staffing
- Ensure that where ‘no contact’ is requested between parents/relatives that arrangements are made to ensure this
- Implement Standing Orders, take card and cash payments within compliance of the Roberts Centre procedures
- Ensuring the charity’s ongoing commitment to Child Protection/Safeguarding obligations and policies
- Professional qualification eg. Social Care, Education, Health, NNEB/NVQ or equivalent experience
- Proven experience working with Children and Families
- An awareness of Safeguarding and the procedures to follow
- A working knowledge of the Children’s Act
- Ability to diffuse difficult situations whilst remaining professional
