Brixham, United Kingdom National Trust Full time

As a Ranger, you’re the heart and soul of the National Trust in the landscapes we protect. You’re a champion of nature conservation and the great outdoors, and you’ll play a crucial role in keeping the nation’s beloved countryside and coast in good shape, for wildlife and for people.

You should be willing to work some weekends, bank holidays and evenings, and be on call.

This salary will be applicable from 1 st April 2024.

What it's like to work here:As a ranger based at Coleton Fishacre, on the English Riviera portfolio you will be working across a wide geographical area covering 4 mansion properties and 3000 acres of countryside. The property consists of a variety of habitats from wetlands through to heathland and everything in between. You will join a small but dedicated team of rangers working hard to deliver the National Trust strategic aims while managing the public access network and working with stakeholders and tenants on landscape and conservation projects.

What you'll be doing:You’ll be helping to protect and care for habitats, wildlife, buildings and machinery. You’ll pass on your knowledge and enthusiasm to encourage others to love this area as much as you do. Whenever and wherever you come across people, you’ll take the time to talk to them and answer their questions, rather than rushing away to the next task.

You’ll make sure that the conservation work and outdoor experiences on the land in your care are of the highest standard. You’ll build relationships in the local community, proudly representing the Trust and letting people know about the work you and the team are doing.
