**Opportunity for role of Mental Health Outreach Worker**

**You will be joining us at a very exhilarating time as we embark on delivering a new targeted outreach service working in partnership with Alzheimer’s Society.**

We are looking for someone to support the equality and diversity agenda.

Over 65s of certain demographic groups, such as ethnic minority groups are underdiagnosed for mental health problems, and are therefore under-represented, and under supported across the six districts of Southern Staffordshire.

As part of your role you will also coordinate, organise, and facilitate awareness raising events and sessions in the community to inform, educate, and support those affected by mental health problems.

This role will require you to build relationships with a range of local contacts. You will network with health and care professionals, marketing Burton and District Mind’s services to help people to get referred to NHS services as early as possible.

As part of partnership with Alzheimer’s Society, you’ll also work with the Dementia Advisers where you have identified people with needs associated with their services.

The role will also include supporting the community to be more supportive of people with mental health problems through problem solving and identifying need.

**Number of Roles and Employer**

One role employed by Burton and District Mind - working in partnership with Alzheimer’s Society

**Hours**:
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm (may include occasional evenings and weekends). Part time not considered on this occasion.

**Contract**:
Permanent - service contracted for 2 years since July 2023.

**Salary**:
£11.19 per hour - equating to £20,365.80 actual.

**Responsible to**:
Development and Sustainability Officer

**Responsible for**:
Community Volunteers as required.

**Liaise with**

Outreach workers, Dementia Advisors and the Community Development Coordinator, volunteers. Line Manager, Mental Health Practitioners from MPFT, voluntary sector partners, communication support, people with mental health problems and their carers, other local mental health providers, external charities and other agencies who support people with mental health problems and the general public with need.

**Based in**:
Office in Burton on Trent. Expectation to work from home, travel across Staffordshire expected.

**Annual leave**

20 days plus bank holidays (pro rata for part time staff), with Length of Service Leave available.

**Pension**:
Pension scheme available after probation period (6 months)

**Travel**:
Must have full driving licence and access to a car for travel for which reimbursement of out of pocket expenses is available.
