**Programme Lead**

Tods are looking to recruit for a Programme Lead to be based mainly in our manufacturing site on Portland, Dorset.

**Position Summary**

The role is responsible for planning, leading, and reporting on all work to deliver theShips or Submarines Strategy. Whether through Function Leaders, subordinate Project Managers, or own Projects. This includes the definition of the work during bid, continuing through launch, execution, and shutdown phases - always controlling variance against the contracted budget by relentlessly driving countermeasures and communicating the project’s performance to the business.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Programme Management**
- Deliver Projects on time, to cost.
- Ensure fixed & forecasted Projects have engagement from the RFQ phase.
- Ensure that a Project programme is created at bid stage with full buy-in from planning and delivery departments.
- Ensure that Project risks and their mitigations are captured and communicated for each Project and create a Programme level risk register for reporting to the Board.
- Work with all functional areas of the business to create, maintain and execute a master plan across all market sectors.

**Operational Planning**
- Derive and report resource requirements for both Live and Forecast projects highlighting consequences to the Board.
- Create an operational plan that delivers the financial plan and provides information to the board for strategic decisions on investment, order acceptance etc.
- Ensure all departments have clear schedules of fixed and forecast requirements and deadlines for each Project and across the Programme portfolio.
- Ensure all external sales and EV targets are agreed, planned, and delivered to budget.

**Quality Cost Delivery**
- Drive rigorous adherence to procedures.
- Ensure the delivery of an on time, right first-time quality philosophy.
- Ensure agreed project and department spend meets budget. are kept within agreed budget.
- Drive an OTIF, customer service philosophy.
- Drive Order Delivery to meet contract dates and customer expectations.

**People**
- Manage performance, including absence and PDRs for direct reports.
- Develop the best team.
- Encourage and sponsor continuous improvement within the team.
- Support production lead in deploying the above activities throughout.
- Step up to support programmes across all sectors as required.

**Health, Safety & Environmental**
- Promote Environmental, Health & Safety awareness across the Company
- Manage departmental compliance with all company & legislatively requirements.
- Assistance with further activities as delegated by designated manager.

**Qualifications**:

- Technical Degree/HNC/HND/Apprenticeship or equivalent experience of a complex technical product.
- Proven experience of customer facing as well as intercompany technical project management delivery.
- Must be able to obtain security clearance.
- Desirable Programme / Project Management Qualification / Accreditation.

**Knowledge / Skills**:

- Ability to use industry standard Project Management Tools at an advanced level.
- Working knowledge of all business, regulatory processes and means of compliance.
- Excellent communication, team working and problem-solving skills.
- Use of Continuous Improvement, zero defect and customer focused tools.
- Good commercial skills and awareness; ability to understand contracts and provide an input into contracts where required.
- Deep understanding of how to work in teams and deliver against a flexible workload.
- Proven experience in implementation of PLM (or similar) frameworks (Governance)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills
- Desirable knowledge of Defence environments.
- Desirable knowledge of composite design and manufacture
