Your purpose as a Junior Land Safety Engineer:
We will want you to play an effective role in a range of exciting major defence related programmes and be providing all aspects of Safety Assurance support. We deliver innovative and practical solutions to our clients across the full lifecycle of these programmes.

With existing relationships with the major operators in the defence sector, we offer a stimulating variety of work, within a team which is rapidly developing to meet the challenge within the land domain. The role will require you to engage with stakeholders at a senior level.

Ideally, we would like you to be Bristol based, but we have offices in Manchester, Aldershot, and Glasgow. Flexibility in work location is required - from time to time our clients do call on our team to deliver work from their sites.

**Responsibilities**:

- The role will entail providing safety assurance support to the lifecycle of land systems and equipment.
- You will support our client in managing land safety and ensuring compliance with the legislation/policy. You will typically be trained and involved in supporting a range of safety assurance activities which include the following:

- Hazard/fault identification studies, HAZOP, FMEA for example.
- Bowtie XP, Power BI, Sharpcloud.
- Qualitative and Quantitative Hazard Assessments.
- Probabilistic Safety Assessments.
- Safety report production.
- Safety management and culture.
- Stakeholder engagement.
- Support to Engineering Substantiation activities.
- Development and review of Safety management arrangements.
- Digital technology, including autonomous systems, digital twins etc.

In addition to having excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills you will also be able to demonstrate the following:

- Minimum 2.1 Bachelor’s degree in: Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Control Engineering, Mathematics, Physics,, Ergonomics, Psychology or other analytical/systematic analysis and evaluation degrees.
- A keen interest in safety with some experience within the defence and/or industry.
- Understand the need for high quality reports and delivered output and be able to work within a strong performing team.
- Motivated and driven to support delivery targets without compromising quality.
- Willingness and desire to join an existing land safety assurance team and develop into the future leaders in the discipline.
