DESCRIPTION

Buyer - Seasonal

My Client is a well-established Importer of a diverse range of products, supplying the retail industry including: Home, Garden, Seasonal, Pet, etc

They are looking for a creative, motivated, numerate and organised individual to join their dynamic Buying team as a Buyer in the Christmas category.

Key Responsibilities:
Create and source design-led ranges for the business and bespoke products for customers.
Calculate landed costs and compare pricing and product options from multiple suppliers to establish the best option.
Overseas travel including factory visits and trade fairs to source new product.
Monitor stock levels, forward orders and rates of sale to maintain healthy stock provision.
Involvement with customers and supporting the sales team in selling directly to Customers either in Direct containers or on a Customer FOB basis.
Monitor and manage production and timely shipment of product both for our own and for customer orders.
Review, utilise and update customer web platforms as required.
Raise new products and maintain data integrity on in-house system.
Raise and manage Purchase Orders whilst liaising with overseas offices.
Review and maintain the Critical Path whilst updating the in-house system accordingly.
Manage the sample process, involving requesting, reviewing, and managing all samples for the category.
Ensure the Pricing process is completed efficiently and accurately based on landed costs and margin requirements.
Carry out accurate filing and maintenance of all required records in line with company procedures.
Attend meetings and take comprehensive and detailed notes and actions.
Attend trade shows at home and abroad to promote product and meet new and existing customers.

Key Skills Required:
Design-led buying background.
Analytical and numerate, with excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Commercially aware with a creative flair and awareness of market trends.
Excellent internal and external communication skills, as the role will work cross-functionally with other in-house teams and involve liaising with our suppliers, overseas offices and customers.
PC literate in Microsoft Excel and Office.
It is essential that the post-holder is methodical and organised with the ability to multi-task and prioritise their workload, working to the required deadlines.
Ability to influence and challenge others, when appropriate.
Possess the drive, motivation and enthusiasm to ensure category success and growth.
