The Head of Originations is a key business role and as such forms part of Responsible Operations Team.

You will lead our Mortgage Origination function in providing excellent service, ensuring quality loan origination, and driving business growth.

In addition to the specific accountabilities relating to the position, you will have responsibility to take a proactive role in delivering the business plan (Operations), and as such should have a clear understanding of the wider mortgage market, products, and systems.

Establishing excellent working empathetic relationships with members of Responsible Lending’s Senior Management Team (SMT) will be essential, as is the ability to communicate across the business and to effectively manage various stakeholders.

**Reporting to**: Director of Operations

**Key Responsibilities for Head of Originations**:

- Design, implement and manage the mortgage new business processes
- Design, implement and manage the lending policy
- Supervise and support the Introducer engagement via the BDM function Team Manager
- Ensure a seamless Customer engagement from Originations to Servicing
- Work in partnership with key third party stakeholders including conveyancing firms, valuers, IT technology suppliers etc.
- Put in place the necessary procedures and controls to ensure the business minimises property risk, credit risk, fraud, and human error
- Implement the new business resource plan ensuring an adequate supply of competent staff aligned with the business’ growth plan
- Undertake the day-to-day management of the Originations area ensuring all the SLA’s are met.
- Implement and manage the business’ TCF, risk and compliance policies across the new business team

**Skills/Experience for Head of Originations**:

- Knowledge of the mortgage origination and servicing processes
- Knowledge of the management and control of third-party partners
- Knowledge of the development of mortgage origination technology
- Ability to successfully manage and coach a team across remote and in-person settings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of consumer credit and regulatory requirements
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task
- Detail oriented with good organisational skills
- Excellent customer service skills along with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Skill to manage third party relationships
- Skill to undertake risk assessments and to monitor and manage risks
- Attitude to understand the benefits of leveraging third party competencies
- Attitude to appreciate a true partnership can only be achieve if it is for the benefit of all parties including the customer

Based in modern, spacious, city centre located offices, this position involves working Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm. We are currently offering hybrid working options for all staff post probation, meaning you will be able to work from home 2-3 days per week.
