Recruiting **Senior Residential Support Workers **who have experience of working with Looked After Children in Residential Children's Care Homes. **The successful applicants** will work in a beautiful home situated in **Duston, Northampton** which is a brand-new modern home which will soon become a stable and settled home for three children and young people who are healing from trauma and adverse childhood experiences.

**You will be instrumental** in leading a team of support workers and you will support and work with children and young people to help them **achieve **health, wellbeing, and education outcomes and you will play a vital role in supporting the Deputy and Registered Manager.

**About the Role**:
You will be a member of a responsible team in charge of the day-to-day care of young people with Emotional and/or Behavioural difficulties within a Children’s home

**Day to day responsibilities** will vary BUT your focus is always the same - **To help build confidence, self-esteem**, **resilience and to help improve the lives of** **young** **people**.

**Skills required**:

- Building rapport with young people
- Listening, patience and empathy

**Some of your responsibilities include**:

- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children/young people
- Actively promoting structure, boundaries and routines within a safe and nurturing environment
- Working in partnership with schools, colleges, OFSTED, Social Workers and other agencies and professionals to ensure the needs of the young people are met
- Engaging in a variety of activities with the young people
- Being a strong and positive role model for the young people
- Working in line with the young people's care plans
- Undertaking regular training as part of my professional development
- Completing admin tasks
- School-runs, attending plays and school events
- Maintaining the home
- Attend school plays, and concerts
- **Seniors will lead a team on shift**, attend LAC Reviews, and write reports and may stand in for the Deputy Manager

**Therapeutic Focus**:We believe that all children and young people should be supported through therapeutic practices in every way possible. Our staff teams are provided with intensive therapeutic training.

**We use an array of therapeutic approaches** to support healing and wellbeing and to help young people understand their experiences and to find alternative ways of expressing hurt, sadness, anger, and frustration.

**How we evaluate your suitability for this role **will be based on how well you meet the above requirements. We take into consideration your job titles, trainings and qualifications. We will also gain a better understanding during the pre-assessment and interview process.

**We do have an essential criteria**
- Able and willing to work 1 day on 2 off
- Able and willing to sleep in on shift when the rota requires
- Must be motivated, dedicated and passionate about transforming young lives
- Able to work full-time (we are not offering part-time, day or night shift only)
- DBS check must be satisfactory
- Work references must be returned and satisfactory
- Full UK DL
