This is a trainee role to learn, develop and progress to be a Plater/Welder. You learn the role from being mentored by a growing and experienced team of Plater/Welders in the production department with many years experience in the industry. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to working on structural designs for some iconic buildings across the UK.

**Expected Responsibilities**
- Working alongside experienced plater/welders.
- Shadowing them and learning the skills and techniques required to execute jobs successfully.
- Learn to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Taught how to safely handle material and use overhead cranes
- Learn to use tools such as grinders, oxy/propane cutting equipment.
- Learn tacking and welding techniques and procedures.
- Carry out self-inspection of fabrications and assisting colleagues on other duties.

**Required Skills/Experience**
- Must have achieved a ‘D’ or equivalent in GCSE Math’s & English (or above)
- Ability to read lists, drawings and works’ instructions
- Able to communicate effectively
- Team player and willingness to get the job done safely and to a high standard.
- Appetite to learn and develop

**Hours of Work**
- 37 hours per week - 6.45am-3.15pm Monday-Thursday, 6.45am-11.45am Friday
- 33 paid holidays per year (including bank holidays)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £6.83-£9.50 per hour
