The Regions Group North East team covers 12 local authority areas. The role is based in the Programme Management Office which supports the Regional Director and the wider team to develop and deliver plans to improve outcomes for children, families, and learners across the region.

The postholder will work as part of a small team but with an expectation that you will own and lead on some elements of work, for example, overseeing the region's monthly Advisory Board process, which supports the Regional Director's decision making

**Job description**:
The key element of this role will be Secretariat to the region's Advisory Board, the board is the key vehicle for supporting the Regional Director's decision making in relation to academies in the North East. You will oversee the effective delivery of the monthly board, including supporting internal regional colleagues with compliance of the commissioning process. You will work closely and proactively with the Regional Director to ensure they are sighted on key issues and risks. You will be a point of contact for our external board members, providing advice and support where required.

Other key elements of the role will involve high level admin and diary support for the Regional Director and Deputy Director and monitoring and assuring programme budget spend and support with other core regional governance and assurance functions. You will also support the wider regional team by leading on Department of State functions, such as the coordination of regional input into Honours rounds, and reviewing and allocating general correspondence, ensuring timely responses are provided by the team.

The role is fast paced, demanding and will require a proactive, organised, and flexible approach to regularly manage conflicting priorities. You will be a strong communicator and work confidently and credibly with a wide range of internal and external partners.
