**Job description**

Job Purpose

The Store person is responsible for ensuring that goods received into or sent out from the Company are in good condition and correspond with the correct paperwork to ensure accurate stocks/records are held and customer deliveries are dispatched on a right first time basis. The store person will also be responsible for the asset register and periodic stock reinspection.

**Core Responsibilities**

**1. Goods In** Receive goods into the company using the appropriate software. Ensuring all paperwork is correct and goods received are in good order, assisting admin staff to ensure that accurate stocks are held on site.

**2. Goods Out** Ensure that customer orders are dispatched accurately using the appropriate software. Load these orders onto the relevant vehicles in a safe and responsible manner in order to ensure that deliveries are made to the customer on a right first time basis.

**3. Store Keeping** Ensure a programmed dispatch system is operated, keep the stores in a clean and safe working condition and store goods in the right location.

**4. Stock Checks** Support our site team by carrying out physical stock checks when necessary and maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the warehouse.

**5. Forklift Trucks** Operate forklift trucks for loading and unloading goods and storing in racking following operator safety checks and correct operation to ensure all goods are stored correctly and safely. Undertake any training required that relates to the driving of FLT’s.

**6. Company Van** Deliver to site teams when required, completing checks and vehicle maintenance to meet legislative requirements and satisfy customer deliveries on a right first-time basis.

**7. Housekeeping** Maintain the warehouse and site to a safe and clean standard to ensure ease of availability of stock, keep the site clean and tidy to ensure safe working practices and to allow the site to function efficiently and comply with safety legislation. Liaise with waste collection to ensure that waste material is removed from site in a timely manner. Ensure facilities for workers is maintained to a high standard and manage the misuse and stock up with consumables and handwash etc.

**8. Production** Assist the site teams on an as needed basis as directed by the site management team.

**9. Transport Activities** Assist in the day to day running of the transport administration process to ensure that goods are dispatched to the carrier/customer on a right first time basis

**10.** To manage the asset register and develop

**11.** Handle the vehicle handover between team members and record vehicle condition at time of handover

**12.** Carry out site audits using a template

**13.** Carry out vehicle audits using template

**15.** Maintain the welfare facilities to a clean, presentable and hygienic standard.

**16.** Responsible for ensuring all visitors and workers are signed in on site on either TK or site visitor book

**17.** Responsible for keys issuance and return and site security during normal operating hours

**18.** Manage skip and refuse collection

**Job Context**

The job holder is responsible for the efficient management of stocks whether picking orders or locating stock within the warehouse. The position requires on time delivery targets are kept and Customer requirements are met.

The ability to work under pressure and communicate at all levels is extremely important as is the ability to work as part of a team to enhance our service to our customers.

It is essential that the job holder works closely with the Norwich HQ and the Contract’s Manager to ensure that teams can gain access to materials in good time and that materials are ordered in sufficient time keeping in mind the lead times.

The job holder shall be required to issue returnable items and gain a signature to release as directed by the office.

The job holder maybe in exceptional circumstances be expected to work outside of normal hours to meet customer requirements.

The job holder must have an enthusiasm for the task in hand and a willingness to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

The job holder will work in a safe and responsible manner. They will wear and use the correct personal protective equipment where and when laid down by the company and will follow company health and safety and environmental procedures and reporting guidelines.

The job holder will be expected to help with other work within the company as and when required.

The job holder will be required to train on any computer software as designated by the company.

The location of the site is the Port of Tilbury although it will be necessary to work on satellite sites in Milton Keynes and other areas when required.

There will be a physical aspect to the work and the job holder should have a good awareness of hazards of potentially lone working.
