**Asset Technician / Coordinator - Water & Wastewater Networks**

**Location**:Barnsley (S75 1JN), Hybrid - office/site visits on a weekly basis as required

**Salary**: circa £28,435 (dependent on experience)

**Role Type**: Permanent, Full-Time, 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

The Asset Optimisation Team are responsible for the asset management of water and wastewater assets across the MOD estate. In this key role, you’ll play a crucial part in ensuring we maintain the highest standards possible by monitoring performance and co-ordinating proactive and reactive maintenance activities within the Network team.

Acting on data, feedback and performance reports, you’ll work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to ensure that the team prepare an appropriate visible and dynamic risk-based planned work schedule. The role requires accurate evidence-based decision making centred on available data to deliver key business objectives, along with all regulatory and contractual requirements.

**What You’ll Be Doing**:

- Scheduling and developing planned and reactive operational and maintenance activities
- Interpreting report and system data accurately and using this to inform decision-making
- Asset management which includes analysis of data, systems entries and performance reporting
- Supporting the Asset Manager with engagement and liaison with stakeholders and regulators
- Assisting with the completion of technical investigations and root cause analyses

**Required Skill, Knowledge and Experience**:

- Previous scheduling or coordinating experience
- Excellent customer services skills
- Intermediate IT skills including MS Office and ability to quickly learn new software
- Confident communication skills to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to multitask, take initiative and make difficult and data-driven decisions
- Excellent organisational and time management skills to meet targets and deadlines

**And if you have the below items, that’s also great, but not essential**:

- Understanding water resource and demand management principles, including leakage
- Understanding water and wastewater regulatory frameworks and requirements
- Experience within a similar role with a sound awareness of water processes

**About you**:

- You must have your own transport and be able to travel independently to our sites when required and have overnight stays when required.

**Salary**: £28,435.00 per year
