Cook - Care Home

_This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cook who has a passion for cooking homely meals and enjoys working as part of a team_

We are a small care home looking for a cook to work full time hours including alternate weekends.

Excellent rates of pay

**Responsibilities**
- Prepare and cook a well-balanced, nutritious diet within a controlled hygienic environment
- Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, dinner, and daily snacks
- Present meals in a visually aesthetic manner
- Prepare appropriate meals for any residents on specialised diets (i.e. pureed food)
- Health & Safety requirements with particular regard to maintain a high standard of hygiene at all times in accordance with the appropriate Food Hygiene Regulations and company policy
- Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
- Ordering of supplies
- To maintain varied menus. There is scope to be creative using fresh ingredients sourced locally.
- To be aware of the Resident's needs and dietary preferences.

A cooking qualification and Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred but not essential as there will be opportunities for further training and development. Previous experience would also be preferred.

Job Duties:

- Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean working station whilst adhering to health & safety standards
- Assist with the cleaning and organisation of kitchen and equipment
- Restock items as needed throughout the shift
- Adhere to all food hygiene & safety standards

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
