Come and join us This is a great opportunity to become part of our dynamic, friendly and forward-thinking, inclusive Cardiac Physiotherapy Team at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

A Technical Instructor Grade III post has become available working with the Cardiac Physiotherapy Team based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital. The post is split between inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with great organizational skills to join our friendly Physiotherapy team on the Cardiac wards and the Cardiac Rehabilitation service at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.

Depending on your experience, you may initially be employed as a Physiotherapy Assistant band 2 and upgraded to Technical Instructor band 3 following training, and when deemed competent.

The Cardiac Physiotherapy Team will be based in the recently opened Louisa Martindale Building with a brand new Therapies Gym.

Previous experience of working as a Physiotherapy Technical Instructor is an advantage.

The job combines a mixture of practical and administrative skills. You will be working alongside qualified physiotherapists to assist with the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of patients as well as being allocated a workload of patients who need to mobilise or have been given exercises to perform.

You will be responsible for progressing some elements of these patients’ treatments under supervision.

You will be involved in supervising exercise classes both on the hospital site and in the community, as well presenting information sessions to small groups of patients.

The role also entails supporting the administration component of the team including, organising patients referrals, appointments and exercise classes as well as data collection and inputting; good basic IT skills are essential.

The cleaning, checking and maintenance of equipment are also a key part of the job.

You will have excellent opportunities for your own skills development, working within a strong and supportive MDT and alongside an established group of Physiotherapists and peer Physiotherapy Support Workers.

This permanent Band 3 position is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic, forward looking and innovative department.

We look forward to welcoming you on an informal visit or discussing any aspect of this exciting opportunity further.
