Contract : Full time - 40 Hours per week - Working 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis
Including weekend promotion work in our sites

**Salary**: £30,000 + 8% Commision

Job Purpose:
Simply put - to be a brand ambassador for sake as a drink of choice.
As Sake wholesale and promotions manager you will be responsible for promoting Sake in all areas of our business. Developing great relationships with our Sake suppliers through our purchasing department. Building a network of wholesale clients for sake. Promoting sake through tasting events across our site. Travelling to and organising events across the UK to promote sake sales. To educate customers on the joy of sake drinking. To train and develop our retail colleagues so they are able to advise and serve our customers better on sake products.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational - Wholesale
- To grow wholesale sake sales
- To contact Japanese and other appropriate restaurants to develop wholesale clients
- Encourage current wholesale customers to purchase sake alongside their current purchases
- To build a new client base for sake
- To agree Selling prices and discounts with the Head of Commercial to ensure profit margins are maintained
- Regular client visits to build and maintain relationships, offering sake masterclasses to clients as a way to educate and drive sales

Operational - Retail (Instore promotions)
- To plan, organise and deliver a minimum 1 x 2 weekly tasting event in our retail sites on the busiest trading days
- to communicate details of tasting events to the General Manager of the relevant site at a minimum 2 weeks, but mainly one month in advance
- To identify over stock or slow selling lines and suggest promotion of these lines in retail and hospitality sites
- Identify trending sake products, suggest purchase volumes to your line manager and

promote them through all your routes to market
- Order sample sake via stock control and liaise with warehouse/logistics to ensure it is available in the sites on time
- To ensure sample stock used for tastings delivers an appropriate return on investment

- To liaise with the General manager of retail sites to ensure sake products are fully stocked and available for customers to purchase
- To deliver training/coaching sessions to our colleagues in suits to improve their knowledge and understanding of sake so they can serve our customers better & increase sales.
- To increase sake sales as a percentage of overall site sales.
- To deliver Year on Year sake sales growth (Excluding 2020 figures
- initially measured against 2019 sales)

Operational - Events
- To research, identify and exhibit at events being held in the UK where sake promotion is possible/appropriate
- To work with the Bookshop/Events Manager to identify any events where we could add sake to the current product range being offered
- To research Imbibe - Alcohol Fair and other similar events where sake can be promoted
- To plan, organise and set-up sake promotion stalls at appropriate events
- To attend and arrange support for all Events to ensure they are successful

Customer Service
- To delight our customers with friendly, helpful service.
- Always look for ways to satisfy our customer and try to exceed their expectations
- To assist customers while they are in our sites with any questions or queries they may have

Stock & Supply Chain
- To work with our purchasing department to ensure sufficient stock levels to meet customer demand.
- Organise and rotate stock within the store room/warehouse
- Ensure stock rotation to manage date codes and minimise any wastage
- To arrange transport of stock to the retail sites/events in a timely manner

Administration & Computer Work
- Check & complete department paperwork on a daily/weekly basis
- Ensure legal checks are completed accurately and on time
- Complete stock taking counts & paperwork on a periodic basis
- To check online payment system weekly for updates or queries
- Keep a robust record of payment progress per supplier and ensure clients meet their

payment deadlines

Any Other Duties

- You may be required to carry out other safe and reasonable requests from your Line

Manager.
- We will provide training commensurate with the tasks you are asked to complete

**Skills Requested**:
Essential Requirement:

- A proven track record in sake sales and promotion, or similar experience within the

F&B sphere
- In depth knowledge of sake, or evidence of wine sommelier experience and

willingness to undertake further training
- An extensive understanding of the different types/brands of sake
- An ability to describe different sake and match them to appropriate menu items
- An ability to recommend suitable sake for different occasions
- Great organisational skills
- Exceptional customer service skills

High Desirable:

- Sake Sommelier accreditation
- Japanese verbal & written communication skills
