**Materials Planner**

Location: Newark, Nottinghamshire

Working as part of the JLR Modular team, the Materials Planner will generate Procurement schedules to ensure that the supply of materials will adequately meet the inventory stock levels and satisfy Production schedules to ensure Operational continuity. They will monitor inventory levels, implement flexible solutions and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally to ensure the supply of materials meets the requirements.

**Duties**:

- Proficient in MS Office or similar to create Materials Planning and Procurement schedules which accurately stipulate the required dates for all materials.
- Work collaboratively with the Production Planning and Engineering teams to ensure the BOM’s are completed on time to enable materials planning and procurement functions to achieve their targets.
- Determine and implement all stock code and inventory parameters for all materials.
- Monitor Supplier delivery performance and take follow up action on all material shortages which adversely affect the Production schedule.
- Designate, create and maintain all Kanban circuits.
- Own materials inventory levels and parameters to guarantee the balance between service level and cash flow, in line with business targets.
- Provide weekly inventory reports to the Production and Procurement teams outlining material availability to meet the plan and identify any risk areas.
- Compile and update key KPI data and supplier performance and inventory management.

**Skills & Attributes of Person**:

- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Supply Chain or a related business field.
- Proven work experience as a Material Planner or a similar role in the Production department.
- Experience of working with MRP systems.
- Experience of working within a Team-oriented and collaborative environment.
- Outstanding communication and team working skills.
- Ability to deal with complexity and change.
- Strong user of IT.
- Previous knowledge of construction of building materials advantageous.
