We are looking for enthusiastic and friendly people to join our team as
**Recovery Champions**. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team you will work with those who are directly impacted by their own substance misuse and the people who care for them, family members and friends; as well as working with key partners to empower communities.

**Where**: Manchester

**Hours**: 37.5 hrs per week 12 month FTC

**Salary**: £22,357 - £23,525

**Responsibilities**:
**About the role**:

- Provide a welcoming and consistent environment in open access area
- Create links with local communities and work to target people affected by drugs and alcohol who are not in touch with mainstream services - those isolated in communities, unaware of services, or who do not feel services are for them
- Attend team meetings/group supervision with the aim of sharing good practice and finding solutions
- Meet individuals within the community to discuss their personal goals regarding their recovery and to support families affected by drugs and alcohol to discuss their personal goals and support needs
- Utilise existing local resources and build local community awareness, signposting to relevant agencies
- Assist the Volunteer and peer Mentor Coordinator in setting up and identifying specialist advice /support and recovery opportunities.

**About you**:

- Lived experience of drug or/and alcohol misuse
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with good IT skills
- Be able to build relationships with individuals with multiple needs, whilst remaining empathetic and non-judgemental towards Service Users
- Confident in working alone as well as part of a team
- Can remain calm under pressure
- Able to travel as required, including where public transport is not available
