We are recruiting for a committed and enthusiastic Junior Housekeeper to join a private family on one of their estates on the Scottish border.

As a Junior Housekeeper, your primary responsibility is to ensure that the house is maintained to the highest possible standard. The House should always be kept in a state of preparation for occupancy, allowing for family/guests to arrive at short notice. It is, therefore, essential that the standard of service, cleaning and general maintenance is impeccable.

When the Principals are in residence, then general day-to-day duties of maintaining the house in good, clean working order, thereby ensuring correct standards and practices are maintained. Paying particular attention to their personal requirements.

When the Principals are not in residence then general day-to-day duties of maintaining the Lodge in good, clean working order, thereby ensuring correct standards and practices are maintained. They should develop a well-ordered routine for daily tasks during family visits, and an in-depth programme to include specific tasks when the house is unoccupied. This is working alongside another Housekeeper and other household staff, whilst maintaining a positive, upbeat and professional disposition.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Reporting to Housekeeper as line manager
- Laundry and linen care as well as personal garments
- Turn down procedure when family/guests in residence
- Cleaning, vacuuming and laying of fires within the house
- Laundry, boot room, gun room, drying room and other associated areas to be kept clean and tidy at all times
- Care of outdoor clothing
- Driving for shopping and other Estate duties as required
- Serving lunch and dinners
- Maintain a programme of thorough, regular ‘spring cleaning’ throughout the Lodge
- Polishing and buffing of the wooden floors with the support of other Lodge staff
- Close communication with Housekeeper and House Manager

**Requirements**:

- Experience of a similar role in private or hospitality sector
- Weekend availability when the family are in residency, and during shooting season
- Valid driving licence

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £25,000.00 per year

- Weekend availability

- Duns, Scottish Borders: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
