Dunfermline, United Kingdom NHS Scotland Full time

Fife Speech and Language Therapy Service has an exciting opportunity for you to join our forward thinking adult acquired care group team.

Based at Queen Margaret Hospital, you will be involved in delivering the service to inpatients, outpatients and people living across west Fife community. Client groups include adults with acquired neurological conditions, head & neck cancer and people with voice disorders. You will work with individuals, their families/carers and other professionals to develop and implement personal outcome focused intervention.

You will work closely with Clinical Lead Therapists within the wider adult acquired team to contribute to ongoing development of a quality service within the tiered model of intervention. All staff members are expected to demonstrate leadership and you will have opportunities to lead within your role.

Along with a relevant postgraduate qualification and autonomy in the management of dysphagia, you will bring enthusiasm, knowledge and experience of working with adults with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties. Clinical decision making in the service is supported by Care Aims, so an understanding of this methodology would be an advantage.

The SLT Service is professionally managed within the Fife Health and Social Care Partnership and you will be joining a dynamic service with a well developed peer facilitation / supervision model and a strong commitment to staff well-being and development.

For informal enquiries, please contact Ailie Mackay, SLT Operational Lead, on 01592 226785.
**A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
