**Commercial Market Creation Lead (**Inside IR35)**

**Contract Term: Until End of May 2023***

**Contracting Authority: The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office**

**Location: Hybrid - East Kilbride 2-3 days in the office**

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and the Department for International Development (DfID) merged on 1 September 2020 to form the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).

**As a Commercial Market Creation Lead**your main responsibilities would be**:
The Market Creation Lead will report directly to the Head of Commercial Management Office (CMO), which is a cross functional team supporting the delivery of development and humanitarian programmes for FCDO through contracts.
- Lead Programme Delivery’s efforts to remove supplier barriers to entry;
- Continue the development of the FCDO development and humanitarian supply market to ensure it is fit for the future;
- Creating participation opportunities for all suppliers (including UK, local in-country, SMEs, Civil Society); and, create an environment for quality competition that delivers value for money and impactful development programmes.
- Ensuring our commercial model delivers excellent value, efficiency and development impact for FCDO, the UK Taxpayer and our Beneficiaries;
- Responsible for supporting the Head of CMO deliver the procurement pipeline, responding to market changes / conditions and deliver a first-class service to our stakeholders.
- Engagement with key stakeholders from across FCDO and wider HMG.

**You’ll have relevant experience in**:

- Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills and excellent communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, assertive and the ability to have difficult conversations
- Strong leadership qualities and the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- An advocate of continuous professional development
- Understanding of the procurement end to end lifecycle and the capabilities required to add commercial value at each stage
- Experience of leading a commercial team in a fast paced environment
- Flexibility, willingness and ability to adapt to change
- Ability to work at pace and evidence of project delivery
- Valid SC Clearance

Desirable
- Member of a relevant professional body, e.g. MCIPS or similar or committed to working towards
- Experience of supporting International Development programmes- Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas._
