We are looking for a suitable applicant to join our Estate Management Team that maintains and develops a substantial estate at one of the country’s foremost Teaching Foundation Trusts.

Duties will involve checking stock and reordering when required, keeping records of store items, Inform the appropriate staff of goods delivered. Liaise with suppliers or manufacturers regarding stock whilst ensuring irregularities are promptly reported.

To provide a fully comprehensive Estate Management Service to the Trust, including Operational Maintenance to ensure the maximum serviceable life span, utilisation and reliability of its building assets and equipment and/or building services etc.

Applicants must have relevant experience in a store keeping environment or a similar role, as well as knowledge of basic health and safety, and moving and handling techniques. Applicants must also have good communication skills, be numerate and computer literate, have the ability to follow instructions, and work to conflicting priorities

The Directorate of Estate Management is responsible for all aspects of Property Maintenance, Capital Development and Estate Administration Services.

As such the innovative development and cost effective management of the department is vital to the overall success of the Trust. Everything from Electrical, Mechanical & Building Maintenance, New Building & Engineering Contracts, Health, Safety & Fire, Energy Efficiency & Advice, Land and Property Management and Gardening is looked after by the directorate.

Estates employ around 150 staff who have a variety of technical disciplines and are responsible for all Trust land & property maintenance with a £21M revenue budget & £29M capital budget.

We manage the repairs and improvements in a highly complex holistic environment of electrical, mechanical & building maintenance, minor works, new builds & engineering contracts, grounds & gardens, as well as ensuring we meet statutory requirements for Health & Safety, Fire, Asbestos, Legionella, Sustainability & Energy efficiency.

Our daily operational function is ensuring building & engineering services are maintained. Users can report general maintenance faults, such as a blocked sink or an electric light not working via our intranet site or by telephoning Maintenance Emergencies such as a flood or loss or power on the helpdesk extension.

- Undertake the primary core role duties associated with the stores consumable stock control within the Estates stores function.
- Undertake the necessary associated clerical duties and maintain accurate records by using information technology or other conventional record keeping and documentation by hard copy format.
- Carry out clerical duties associated with stores records: i.e. updating computerised stock control system, manual issue sheets, etc. - (This task is routinely undertaken by the stores lead at each campus location. The stores person shall therefore need to have an awareness and knowledge of the stores routines and procedures, to assist covering the typical administration duties during any periods of sick leave or annual leave etc.)
- Keep accurate and complete paperwork and computer records of stock etc. in accordance with Data Protection and confidentiality.
- Issue and recovery of consumable material, tools and equipment; keeping and retaining the appropriate and accurate records.
- Accurately record details of each stores transaction for audit purposes.
- Ordering and receipt of stock items including the follow-up of orders, as and when necessary. (This task is routinely undertaken by the stores lead at each campus location. The stores person shall require knowledge of the routines and procedures for this purpose to assist covering the task during any periods of sick leave or annual leave etc.)
- Monitor the turnover of stock items and advise line manager of any associated concerns. (This task is routinely undertaken by the stores lead at each campus location. The stores person shall therefore require due knowledge of the routines and procedures for this purpose to assist covering the task during any periods of sick leave or annual leave etc.)
- Assist with the preparation of fully costed discrepancy list following Annual Stock-take.
- Keep the designated line manager aware of problems or otherwise any problems which may potentially delay, inconvenience or prevent the clinical service delivery.
