I am excited to be working on an exclusive basis for a secure, established marine engineering business who support a range of sectors globally. They are currently recruiting for a new Buyer due to growth in the business.

You will work closely with the team on projects to ensure that the agreed targets are achieved both in time and cost. You will constantly be looking to change and improve the experience of customers and suppliers through purchasing activities.

**Job Description of a Buyer**
- Cost analysis and challenge of current agreements and purchasing contracts.
- Evaluation of supplier and sub-contractor tenders.
- Processing of requisitions for purchases.
- Processing of purchase orders to ensure timely issue to suppliers.
- To source new suppliers to ensure constant development of the company.
- Resolution of query invoices which conflict with purchase order details.
- Ensuring suppliers and services meet the requirements of the company HSEQ specifications.
- Maintaining agreed stock levels of consumable materials.
- Forecasting likely levels of demand for services, products and/or component parts to be used in any manufacturing process.
- Presenting ideas on new products and suppliers to senior staff.

**Skills & experience of a Buyer**
- Previous Purchasing/procurement experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Recognised purchasing qualification is desirable.
- Experience of Sage 200 or a similar ERP system.
