As a Quality Verification Specialist, you will be responsible for quality verification on our Portfolio projects, ensuring test analysis, test planning and execution is conducted to the highest level. You will be involved in high-profile and challenging projects, ensuring that we successfully deliver new games or updates consistently.

You will work closely with the JXP team to verify quality levels across a Portfolio project, communicating frequently with our external partners to understand those projects and prepare a testing approach. Working across multiple different projects, you will task teams of testers to execute our verification tests, provide a review and analysis of the results and give detailed feedback and evaluation of a project’s quality.

The Quality Verification Specialist is expected to have the ability to learn and understand the nuances of a project to design or adapt verification testing, building test plans to suit. They will need to direct team’s testing and be able to perform hands-on testing when necessary and make sense of the results.

Please note: We are more than happy for this position to be worked remotely, however you will be required to be onsite once a month. If you live further than 1 hour from Cambridge we will cover the cost of travel and accommodation.

**Key Duties**:

- Design, review and improve test cases and test plans to verify quality of specific products as directed by the Quality Delivery Manager.
- Consider and plan necessary resourcing to execute any testing needed for functional and non-functional quality verification on projects you are tasked with.
- Analyse and understand the games you work on, and understand how to adapt our quality requirements to perform testing.
- Execute functional tests in appropriate development environments depending on the stage of the project.
- Understand and plan for non-functional testing, such as Performance and Compatibility.
- Document test coverage through detailed test plans and schedules.
- Provide appropriate reporting and feedback to different stakeholders focusing on both details and key findings.
- Communicate requirements, feedback, scheduling and other matters with the right degree of detail.
- Work closely with development teams to provide them with appropriate feedback on the quality and ensure it can be addressed.
- Provide advice to developers to make their work more testable.
- Work with outsourcing QA teams to achieve the best possible result, including creating documentation, mentoring where appropriate.
- Provide reporting of test effort, results, and risks, from both manual and automated tests.

**Required Skills**:

- Gaming industry experience
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in formal software testing or video games testing.
- Familiarity with source control, such as GIT or Perforce.
- Experience with build software, such as Jenkins or Bamboo.
- Knowledge of console, mobile and desktop ecosystems (e.g. PlayStation, Steam, Google Play Store etc.)
- Familiarity with Review and Compliance processes for different console and mobile platforms.
- Experience working with external teams and QA vendors, directing outsource testing and collaborating with different development and test teams.
- Experience with risk-based testing.
- Ability to carry out risk assessments and professionally communicate these back to the team.
- Ability to work from technical tasks and translate them into actionable test cases.
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of different testing methodologies and agile development. Adept at costing, time estimation, and root cause analysis.
- Can interpret crash logs from multiple platforms, e.g. Xbox, PlayStation, Windows, iOS etc.
- Ability to effectively perform destructive and exploratory testing without test case guidance with an eye for detail.

**Desirable Skills**:

- You have a computing or games related degree.
- Excellent understanding of how games are built, the different components and disciplines that come together and how they relate.
- Has worked within game development environments such as Xcode, Visual Studio, Unreal, Unity etc.
- Expert understanding of software QA and games development practices and terminology (ideally concerning mobile games or live-supported games).
- Supported LIVE products with ongoing updates.
