Test Technician Validation

Spring Engineering are seeking and an experience Test and Validation Technician to join their client's organisation based in Edinburgh on a permanent full-time basis.
This is a fabulous opportunity to join a Global organisation, supporting the team in their state-of-the-art R&D centre.
You will be part of R&D Team who are focused on the lifecycle products, with a specific focus on measurement of distance between sensor and objects. The phases they cover include; Design Lifecycle, Product Definition, Product Qualification, Industrialisationand to Mass Production. The main responsibility of the team is performing a combination of Low Level IP Silicon Validation and also High Level System Performance Validation of their products (Module or ASIC based).
Role Overview
Testing of Company products on Validation Test Bench. Generation of measurement data for the Validation team. Data is utilised to support Product Qualification during various stages of the product development, with an emphasis for achieving Mass Productionand Product release.
You will be responsible for running Test Benches (Electrical & Optical) using automated test environment (normally using Python) for every Product. You will record the measurement data, then consolidate and report the product performance data to the ValidationTeam.
Duties, Responsibilities & Experience
Execution of accurate bench validation of devices
Comply with continuous improvement initiatives at bench level testing
Identify and document bugs found on
Experience with Mixed Signal IC Validation Testing; Inc. Photo Diodes, ADC, TIA's, I2C/SPI, Bandgap, LDO's, etc...
Proficiency with standard laboratory test equipment (i.e. DC power supplies, oscilloscopes, multi-meters) is needed
Basic knowledge of PCB layout and board design
Understand test schedules, strategies and procedures for Design Verification and Design Validation of the Device Under Test
Contribute to the performance measurements of new ASIC or Module, and debug where appropriate i.e. where it does not perform as expected with feedback to the design team including documentation of issues.
Collaborate with the Hardware & Software design teams to ensure bench maintenance to ensure an efficient time-to-market of the new product.
When required, documenting test procedures and equipment setups
HND in Electronic/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
Relevant industry (silicon validation experience preferred)
Solid device validation and characterisation techniques.
Execute Validation test instructions
Understanding of PCB schematics
Darkroom experience of optical device testing and characterisation
