Allocations Officer

An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated allocations officer to join our established supported housing business. You will be responsible for the day to day control and allocation of our rooms and ensure that those in need are provided with the most appropriate housing and support services.
You will need to:
- Have a knowledge of the void rooms, those which are about to be vacant and any requiring maintenance repairs
- Communicate to support workers, maintenance, cleaners, and drivers where rooms may need to checked or given attention
- Work with existing tenants to ensure they are happy with their accommodation or relocate them as necessary
- Arrange the diary and appointments for service users to be interviewed and allocated via our centrally located office or within the community with other staff
- Assess the needs of service users and determine where they would be best placed for successful tenancy and appropriate support needs
- Liaise with external agencies and services daily and make them aware of out current availability
- Monitor correspondence and be the first point of calls with charities, hospitals, the council, prison officers, probation officers, and mental health teams in order to provide our services in a professional and appropriate manner
Please be aware that you may be dealing with people who have complex needs and therefore may present challenging behaviour at time. You will need to be able to communicate successfully with both different sectors society and professionals and varying levels.
