We are a new nursery located in the heart of Blackheath and are seeking an amazing person to join our friendly team as Kitchen Assistant. If you are looking for a part-time role in the middle of the day in childcare, this is for you

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Supporting room staff over the lunchtime period, assisting with mealtime and naptime.
- Ensuring that we provide a friendly, caring and learning environment to encourage and develop children in our care.
- Meeting and exceeding health and safety as well as hygiene requirements.
- Building warm and caring relationships with the children.

**PERSON SPEC (required)**
- Awareness of food allergies and intolerances.
- Good interpersonal skills
- Sound knowledge of child protection
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- The ability to plan and organise workload
- Understanding of the EYFS
- A knowledge of child development
- Working collaboratively as part of a team.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 25 per week

**Salary**: Up to £11.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Blackheath: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Catering: 1 year (preferred)
- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
- Kitchen experience: 1 year (preferred)
