Department Description
The Control team are primarily responsible for producing Management Information, Budgets and Forecasting for the Commercial UK & Ireland department and wider support functions such as Facilities, HR and Finance.
Job description
The purpose of the Control team is to provide meaningful information that facilitates the understanding of current and future business performance and improves the quality of management decision making.
This a varied and hands on role where you will gain a good understanding of the business. You will be part of a close-knit team that provides support colleagues around the business. As well as working closely with your colleagues in the UK there is also a lot of interaction with group functions in particular Group Control.
**Main responsibilities**:
Update, maintain and build data for multiple reporting needs
Profit and loss reporting and analysis including both revenue and costs
Performance reporting against budgets across various areas of the business including sales, renewals, claims and back office teams
Producing regular management reports with meaningful information that is accurate, up-to-date and that adds value to the management team
Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts and the uploading of all budget and forecast data to the accounting system
Work with the team to develop / improve reporting as well as produce new reports when required
Ensure that all internal and external audit requirements are met
Ad Hoc reporting on all aspects of the business
Skills Knowledge and Experience
**Essential**:
Advanced Excel and Access skills with experience in other MS Office products
Highly organised, self-motivated, excellent communicator with a good eye for detail
Experience of working with large data sets
The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines - delivers results and demonstrates accountability for actions with the highest level of quality
Understanding concepts or new ideas and being able to implement solutions in a timely manner
Good stakeholder management skills Experience of working in a team environment
**Desirable**:
Qualified by Experience or Part-Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACMA/AAT
