Our client, a leading engineering company, is seeking a highly skilled Simulator Development Engineer to join their team in Northamptonshire. As a Simulator Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing simulation software andhardware systems to support their driver training programme. You will work closely with a team of engineers, designers, and technicians to develop high-fidelity simulators that accurately replicate real-world conditions and environments.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Design, develop, and implement simulation software and hardware systems using industry-standard tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, or equivalent.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and software engineers to develop simulators that meet customer requirements.
- Validate and verify simulator functionality and performance by conducting simulation tests and comparing simulation results with real-world data.
- Develop and maintain simulator documentation, including technical manuals, user guides, and design specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve simulator software and hardware issues, working closely with technicians and other team members.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest simulation technology, tools, and methodologies and suggest improvements to existing processes.
- Participate in the design and development of new simulation tools, algorithms, and software packages.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, or equivalent.
- Experience with simulation software and hardware development, including system integration, validation, and verification.
- Understanding of simulation principles, such as dynamics, control systems, and optimisation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with Automotive or Transport or Racing, driving simulators, or industrial simulators.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or Java.
- Knowledge of real-time simulation, hardware-in-the-loop simulation, and/or software-in-the-loop simulation.
