Aberdeen, United Kingdom Fugro Full time

Job Description

Do you want to join our Geo-data revolution? Fugro’s global reach and unique know-how will put the world at your fingertips. Our love of exploration and technical expertise help us to provide our clients with invaluable insights. We source and make sense of the most relevant Geo-data for their needs, so they can design, build and operate their assets more safely, sustainably and efficiently. But we’re always looking for new talent to take the next step with us. For bright minds who enjoy meaningful work and want to push our pioneering spirit further. For individuals who can take the initiative but work well within a team.

The role:
In the position of Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in conducting survey and positioning activities, and ensuring a high level of quality control on survey vessels. Opportunities for involvement span across our various service lines, including Positioning & Construction Support (PCS), Inspection, Repair and Maintenance (IRM), and Geophysical domains.

As a Trainee Surveyor, you will actively participate in and learn the intricacies of setting up, testing, calibrating, and operating a diverse range of survey and positioning systems. This role not only provides hands-on experience but also facilitates the development of a comprehensive understanding of engineering, processing, ROV, and marine disciplines. Join us on this dynamic journey, where you will contribute to shaping the future of surveying while advancing your skills and knowledge in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Upon joining us as a Trainee Surveyor, you will participate in a 4-week training programme which will give you the essential skills and knowledge you need. The programme includes both theory and hands on based learning which will give you the best start to your career as a surveyor.

With Fugro, you are in the driving seat of your career; you determine your own career path. To reach your full potential, you can develop yourself in your current role or consider opportunities elsewhere in Fugro. You will have the opportunity to continue to grow and develop your skills during your time with Fugro by using the Fugro academy. Fugro Academy provides practical and theoretical training and development solutions, with global delivery across all of our locations. These courses provide a great platform to get to know colleagues from different countries and truly help you establish a network within our organisation. Of course, this improves your teamwork skills, but most importantly; it brings to life many of the synergies which make Fugro so unique.

Who we’re looking for:
It is important that you have a desire to work offshore as a surveyor and work well as part of a small team. You will have excellent attention to detail and will have the ability to spot and solve problems.

You must also be prepared to spend approximately 180 days offshore per year.

We are looking for someone who has strong computer skills and a solid understanding of field concepts, survey practices, and procedures. You will have a basic understanding of online survey systems and system calibrations. Ideally you will have basic knowledge of survey equipment such as navigation systems and sensors.

What we offer:
Fugro provides a positive work environment as well as projects that will satisfy the most curious minds. We also offer great opportunities to stretch and develop yourself. By giving you the freedom to grow faster, we think you’ll be able to do what you do best, better. Which should help us to find fresh ways to get to know the earth better. We encourage you to be yourself at Fugro. So, bring your energy and enthusiasm, your keen eye and can-do attitude. But bring your questions and opinions too. Because to be the world’s leading Geo-data specialist, we need the strength in depth that comes from a diverse, driven team.
- Extensive career & training opportunities both nationally and internationally.
- Competitive salary accompanied by an attractive package including contributory pension scheme.
- Option to lease an electric car.
- Private Medical Insurance
- Our view on diversity, equity and inclusion_

At Fugro, our people are our superpower. Their variety of viewpoints, experiences, knowledge and talents give us collective strength.
