Applicant must have a core profession as outlined in the person specification. Evidence of this will be needed at interview.

This is a transition and training role, which is a fixed term contract. Once the course requirements are met and the post holder has achieved provisional accreditation with the BABCP they will progress to a full time qualified band 7 CBT therapist role. The post holder will work within Working age adult or Older peoples Community Transformed mental health services in KMPT

To attend to the training course requirements and undertake all of the below duties under the supervision of a clinical supervisor.

Develop psychological formulations for individual patients that contribute towards the overall assessment of their care needs

Collaboratively establish individual patients goals towards recovery.

Determine suitability of specific psychological interventions, including group and individual modalities, based on the patients assessment/formulation

Plan, deliver and review individual and group psychological interventions for specific patients.

With service user consent, to video tape clinical sessions for viewing in clinical supervision and for submission for course assignments.

Identify gaps within and potential developments of the psychological therapy programme, reporting these to supervisory staff

The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities

Trainees will be supported by experienced colleagues and offered a range of opportunities to develop core CBT competencies within the workplace in conjunction with the academic support offered by the course team. You will benefit from clinical supervision on the course and in the workplace, with opportunities for peer support. You will have time for study and assignments built into your job plan. In the first year of the course you will develop your skills with a broad range of clients before specialising in working with people with Psychosis and Bipolar disorder or Personality Disorders in the second year. You will be encouraged to develop areas of interest that are relevant to the clinical work and contribute to service initiatives and development.
