**Full Time, Fixed Term for 12 months.**
Bristol City Council supports and facilitates the sustainable growth of the city’s film and TV sector through its production services provision. Part of the council’s Culture & Creative Industries team, the service comprises The Bottle Yard Studios, Bristol UNESCO City of Film management and Bristol Film Office.
This is an exciting time for Bristol as a centre for film and TV production. The UK TV and film industry is growing significantly, with demand for new content at a record high. Bristol is benefiting from this growth with many major high-end TV series choosing to film in the city, a planned expansion of The Bottle Yard Studios and new initiatives in development to stimulate inclusive and sustainable growth of the local creative industries. To support the implementation of a film and TV Workforce Development Programme for South Bristol, we are recruiting an Industry Outreach Coordinator on a fixed-term basis (12 months).
In establishing this new role for Bristol City Council, you will support the development of a skilled local talent base by embedding close links to South Bristol schools and community organisations, as well as production companies working at the studios. Through extensive outreach to industry and community, you will build programmes of work that deliver against Bristol UNESCO City of Film and The Bottle Yard’s Skills Agenda. Through close working with the Workforce Development Consultant, Bristol City of Film Manager and Senior Bristol Film Manager, you will monitor progress and outcomes to shape the future work programme, secure ongoing funding and influence the strategic aims of this exciting development project.
Key elements of the role include, developing key relationships across community organisations, schools, FE colleges, HE educators, production companies, internal BCC teams and external delivery partners/industry bodies; establishing opportunities for work experience, shadowing and work placements with major production clients; engagement with young people across South Bristol to raise awareness of production career paths and The Bottle Yard Studios’ skills development programmes; project management, monitoring and reporting to funders/stakeholders; devising pastoral and employment support mechanisms for future project development; engaging with leading industry bodies and training providers to add value to the project and share best practice.
This is a new post that will broaden the remit of Bristol City Council’s film services provision and enhance Bristol’s creative workforce activity. We are looking for someone experienced in community outreach that can hit the ground running to confidently engage and inspire a wide range of stakeholders and individuals.
You will be comfortable working closely with employers, including senior leaders, to establish bespoke training packages. With a strong track record of working with young people from diverse backgrounds, you will understand the challenges associated with supporting new entrants into employment, have good safeguarding knowledge and be practiced in enabling new opportunities that bring positive outcomes. A proven project manager, you will bring solid working knowledge of monitoring and evaluation models, budget/funding management and reporting to the post.
A large percentage of the role is office-based so a high level of digital competence is required. In addition, you will be required to represent Bristol City Council whilst attending meetings, community/school visits and workshops across Bristol (approx. 40% of the time, including occasional unsociable hours). The office base for this post is at The Bottle Yard Studios in South Bristol.
**Why Bristol City Council?**
At Bristol City Council, we go that extra mile for our people; we offer a work environment which is fast moving and supportive, giving you the chance to use your skills and develop new ones within a high-profile organisation. For the majority of our roles hybrid working arrangements are available, giving teams the opportunity to work in a way that suits them, balancing service need and individual choice - mixing both home and office working.
Join us and you’ll receive an excellent rewards package including flexible working and flexitime, membership of the Local Government Pension scheme, and a generous annual leave allowance. In addition, you’ll be working in a supportive environment where you’ll have the chance to make Bristol a better place and contribute to its future.
