**Job Description for Senior Quantity Surveyor - Highways**

Atheray Stone are currently looking to speak to Senior Quantity Surveyors to work for a leading contractor who specialise within the Highways & Rail Infrastructure Sectors. Due to an increase of projects awards with a local authority, the business are expandingtheir commercial team. The Individual will potentially oversee a number of jobs at one time including a new roundabout and High Street regeneration, all administered under a NEC contract. Projects ranging from £5m to £10m.

Strong pipeline of work in the region on offer, as well as a clear pathway to Managing QS. This individual will be expected to be able to run projects from start to finish, whilst managing an Assistant & Graduate level Quantity Surveyor.

**Location & Salary for Senior Quantity Surveyor - Highways**

Numerous sites across the Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire area. Flexible working on offer (Three on site, Two remote as an example) however the client is keen to find someone hands on. Salary on offer ranges from £60k to £65k + benefits.

Established experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor is essential for this role due to the demand of the projects and client, the prospective employee will need to be able to hit the ground running. Experienced in NEC3 contracts (various options) as wellas Change and standalone experience cost reporting with the assistance of juniors.

Educated to Degree level would be preferred as well as a member of the RICS or Chartered Institute of Engineering Surveyors.

**Responsibilities for Senior Quantity Surveyor - Highways:**
- Subcontract procurement (enquiries, comparisons, negotiation, orders, etc.) and management (payments, change management, etc.)
- Cost planning and control, checking progress against programme and managing change (up/down)
- Produce financial progress reports, such as cost value reconciliation (CRV), cash flow and forecast
- Pricing Target Costs, in line with the Highways Method of Measurement
- Measure and report performance against KPI at framework level
- Ensure that payments are applied for and received in accordance with the contract
- Interface with clients and raise awareness of our financial and commercial expectations
- Risk management, engaging in regular risk reviews
- Mentor and manage an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, if required for the projects
- Influence and contribute in resolution of all disputes that have a commercial impact
- With a keen eye for detail, you will ensure that all aspects of your role are delivered efficiently and to a high standard
