**The Role**

The Branch Merchandising function oversee the allocation and replenishment of product across the New Look retail and eCommerce channels.

Branch Merchandisers are responsible for a group of stores, ensuring they have the most commercial product proposition possible. We ensure stores have the right amount of stock, at the right time, with the aim of maximising full price sales, minimising markdown, and optimising profit.

You will enhance New Look’s brand presence across our stores and website, by using data to manage our inventory, enhance our customers shopping experience, and contributing to the overall success of our stores and website.

Utilising relevant experience in retail facing Merchandising positions, you will play a significant role in the development and execution of the functional strategy, establishing productive ways of working and ensuring our stores have commercial stock packages to deliver their sales plans.

**Accountabilities & Responsibilities**
- Accountable and responsible for overseeing the commercial distribution of stock to the business and the processes and tasks involved.
- Reviews performance by store/region/country and across the product hierarchy weekly.
- Is confident and pro-active in sourcing and working with data to resolve issues or deliver solutions.
- Takes a data driven approach to managing stock and influencing distribution strategy with the aim of maximising profitability.
- Manages departmental product gradings with reference to regional/product performance.
- Monitor stock levels daily/weekly and take any necessary actions. Review actual versus planned stock levels, taking appropriate action to ensure targets are kept. Attend appropriate weekly BMD, Branch Merchandising and Distribution meetings.
- Works collaboratively with the Distribution Centre to ensure the pick and dispatch of stock to store is managed efficiently and cost effectively.
- Contributes to formulation and delivery of the Branch Merchandising strategy.
- Identifies performance opportunities at store/product level and is pro-active in suggesting corrective actions to maximise sales and profit.
- Acts as a liaison point for BMD (Buying Merchandising Design) and stores, facilitating the execution of the sales and stock strategies and dealing with any issues as and when they arise.
- Formulates close working relationship with other functions with the aim of delivering company strategy (e.g. Retail Operations, Distribution Centre, Visual Merchandising.)
- Develop excellent regional and product level knowledge to help make informed commercial decisions.
- Manages stock for new store openings, concepts, closures, range introductions/exits, etc.
- Actions regular store visits within UK/Ireland, with a focus on stock levels/mix, sales performance by product hierarchy, space, and grades, taking any remedial action where necessary.
- Encourages an assertive, dynamic culture within the team, displaying strong leadership skills to enable achievement of business goals.
- Accountable and responsible for overseeing the management of a direct line report.

- Conducts regular performance reviews, is proactive in managing performance and ensures succession is planned appropriately.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills. Can communicate effectively with all levels of the business inclusive of senior management team.

**Knowledge & Experience**
- Previous experience within Branch Merchandising functions within relevant Retail environments
- A proven awareness of key relevant retail concepts and terminology
- Graduate level or with strong relevant work experience in the Branch Merchandising or Merchandising field.
