**Come and join us and be a visitor**
We are looking for a volunteer to visit a older gentleman. He’s a quiet gentleman who enjoys spending time relaxing at home as well as getting out and about too. He has a keen interest in watching sports and shopping. He loves to look through holiday brochures too
He is looking for a volunteer who is very relaxed, calm and patient.
Visits are flexible and expenses are paid too.
He will enjoy spending time with a friendly volunteer like you who has similar interests. By visiting every other month, you will make a huge difference.
You will be introduced and get to know him with the support of a key worker.
**When & where do I need to be available?**
- Visits will be every 2 months and can be during the week or weekends.
- Visits will last around 1 hour.
- Visits will take place at his home initially.
**As a Mencap Visiting Volunteer you will be**:
- Aged 18 or over
- Friendly, patient and reliable

**About this service**
We offer a lifelong befriending service for people with learning disabilities. Matching the skills and interests of passionate visitors with the specific hobbies and interests of individual people with a learning disability.
Our visitors visit six times a year to create a 1-2-1 connection, offer companionship, encourage people to do the things they enjoy and check-in on their wellbeing.
In many cases, our visitor is the only person in someone’s life who isn’t paid to be there for them.
