**Job description**:
A technology manufacturing business require a Senior Buyer. Applicants need demonstrable strategic procurement expertise gained within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

The Senior Buyer will work closely with the Procurement & Supply Chain Management team, to inject energy and strategic competency into the procurement team. Collaborating closely with technical stakeholders in engineering, it's also hoped the Senior Buyer can drive the introduction of new processes and procedures into the function.

Specific duties of the Senior Buyer include:

- Procurement of direct materials and services in-line with production and cost saving objectives
- Supplier selection, negotiation, development and ongoing supplier management activities
- Ensure continuity of supply to production lines
- Help drive LEAN and best practice procurement procedures and policies
- Collaborate with Engineering in regards to supplier quality issues

Senior Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

- Ability to demonstrate strategic achievements within procurement
- Procurement experience as a; Buyer, Senior Buyer, Strategic Buyer, Procurement Manager within manufacturing or engineering
- Knowledge of best practice procurement procedures and techniques
- MRP/ERP literacy
- Ability to foster excellent relationships, both internally and externally
