**Job Description**:
Main Purpose of the Role
- Define collectively the overall Health Science CDMO strategic direction and drive the local strategy to deliver positive sustained commercial performance
- Manage directly the UK CDMO site and liaise with the US CDMO team to ensure capability and capacity alignment
- Ensure the effective deployment of motivated and competent people for consistent delivery of high quality & valued services to customer base
- Provide sales and commercial leadership across all activities within respective line of business for both local and international clients
- Close liaison with Health & Nutrition global management team and affiliate network to support international clients and expansion programme beyond existing geographies
- Form an integral part of the SGS United Kingdom Senior Management Team and contribute towards the identification and realisation of relevant local and corporate objectives

Key Accountabilities
- To take overall responsibility for the delivery of relevant financial metrics, ensure objectives are met through effective business planning, efficient and appropriate use of resources, and by the adequacy of operational capacity and capability to deliver valued services to customers
- To develop and maintain an appropriate organisation structure that encourages employees to take ownership of business goals at appropriate levels, with the flexibility and capability to react positively to changing customer requirements, compliance requirements and growth opportunities and other external influences
- To maintain an awareness of market trends/developments and oversee effective contact with commercial leaders to ensure that new business avenues are explored and appropriate growth opportunities maximised
- To ensure effective communication across the business to achieve appropriate levels of understanding of and commitment to global, national and local objectives
- Maximise operational/ sales team utilisation and effect full accountability on allocated activities to enable business growth and attainment of sales objectives
- To ensure all employees have the appropriate level of skills, knowledge and experience in order to provide a high quality service to customers and to meet relevant regulatory requirements
- Formulate succession and progression planning for critical team members to ensure business continuity
- Review and approval of new business proposals prior to issuance to ensure corporate compliance, cost considerations and margin realisation
- Travel as required for client/ internal meetings and presentations to promote capabilities/ initiatives and effect positive communication
- To work closely with the Company’s Financial Services department to ensure adherence with relevant financial control mechanisms and to protect Company assets
- To develop and maintain effective working relationships with other SGS Affiliates and SGS Group personnel to capitalise on global strengths and competence/expertise of people within the wider SGS network
- At all times, adopt a safe behaviour by exercising due regard for the health and safety of yourself, colleagues and clients, in line with the Company’s policies and procedures
