clients including developers, large corporations, and governments to help them understand and
solve a wide variety of environmental projects throughout the Highlands & Islands. Our hard

developers, local authorities, etc.

New Year, New You

A9 Consulting Ltd is involved in terrestrial ecology delivery across the Highlands &
Islands and works on a large variety of ecology projects, including impact assessments for
infrastructure proposals (including renewable energy, transport, housing and forestry), habitat
and species surveys, biodiversity planning and community projects.

These roles will help drive forward our delivery of ecological consultancy, and it is likely
areas.

About the role

As a senior professional within our team, you will be managing your own projects from inception
to completion. Your ecological knowledge and attention to detail will allow you to deliver high
level survey, assessment and reporting. You may be asked to mentor and manage early career
ecologists and become a key part of our enthusiastic team.

About you

Essential

A minimum of two years post graduate experience in a fast-paced environmental consultancy and
knowledge of flora and fauna in the North of Scotland.

Full driving licence.

A broad range of ecological experience on large-scale projects in key sectors, and ECOW
experience in same.

A thorough knowledge of ecological legislation and planning policy in Scotland.

Excellent report writing skills and project management abilities.

An understanding of the EU Habitats Directive in so far as they relate to project-based
ecological impact assessments being undertaken by an ecological consultancy.

Desirable

Experience in impact assessment of a wide range of sectors.

A specialism in one field of ecology with a broader working knowledge of other inter-related
fields.

ECOW & EnvCOW experience.

Access to own vehicle.
Willingness to travel across the Highlands and to the Islands. We are involved in a long-term
renewables project in Shetland and the Western Isles and cover here will be required on
occasion.

Willingness to work in the Middle East (Ornithology).

Emergency First Aid/CSCS card - training will be given.

These positions can be home based in Scotland or Hybrid in the Highlands.
