**Lead Electronic Engineer**

**Oldham**

**Salary - £50K - £60K**

Jackson Hogg are proud to be working with a leading UK based, power electronics manufacturer at their site in Oldham.

An opportunity has arisen for a Lead Electronic Engineer to join their expanding team, due to an increase in projects. Reporting to the Chief Design Authority, the Lead Electronic Engineer is responsible for leading design teams in providing engineeringsolutions that exceed both internal and external customer standards in the design and development of bespoke electrical power and control systems.

**Role responsibilities**:
**1**.Provide technical leadership driving Power & Control design solutions.

**2**. Undertake 'Lead Engineer’ assignments with responsibility for the overall integrity of design for power and control solutions to fulfil the required customer specifications.

**3**. Work alongside the Project Manager to ensure engineering activity is prioritised commensurate with project requirements.

**4**. Lead internal and external design reviews.

**5**. Supervision and mentoring of the team of electronic engineers, always available to provide advice and assist with technical solutions.

**6**. Design and develop all solutions in line with customer requirements and in accordance with the latest company processes and procedures.

**8**. Perform all tasks in such a way as to maintain compliance with the company’s procedures.

**9**. Involved in the transition of projects from development to production.

**10**. Maintain strong communications with other groups across the business so as to maintain a professional image and develop confidence in our engineering abilities.

**11**. Assist with the preparation of material (such as Technical Proposals) and labour estimates for tasks as part of our bid process.

**Person Specification**:
**1**. Higher National Diploma or Degree in Electronics or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.

**2**. Final year project in a power related discipline.

**3**. Be eligible for security clearance to the required level.

**4**. Have previous experience of working in an engineering business.

**5**. Have previous experience in designing power and control products detailed in the knowledge section.

**6**. Awareness of concept development and requirements capture.

**7**. Experience of technical document preparation including hardware description documents, test strategies and procedures.

**8**. Experience of the product development lifecycle from 'cradle to grave’.

**9**. Have a high level of self-motivation and an ability to work autonomously without high levels of supervision.

**10**. Excellent Communication skills, able (and willing) to articulate ideas and plans clearly to personnel at all levels within the organisation.

**Essential Competencies**:
**1**. Continually attain satisfactory compliance with Quality, Safety, Security and HSE requirements.

**2**. Digital design (Combinatorial logic, GAL and Processor experience).

**3**. Analogue Design (Filters, Op-amps and measurement).

**4**. Demonstrable understanding of Single and Three Phase power principles.

**5**. Demonstrable understanding of at least two of the following schemes (all at power levels between 100W and 10kW): DC/DC Converters AC/DC Supplies AC/AC Converters DC/AC Inverters 3 phase Motor Control Inverters

**6**. Understanding of motor control concepts and topologies (control systems).

**7**. Understanding of EMC Best Practice.

**8**. DOORS Requirements Capture/Tracking Tool Experience.
