**Hours / Shifts**:37.5 hrs per week, 07:30 - 15:30 & 11:30 - 19:30 on a rota basis

(5 days over 7, working 2 weekends out of 3, including bank holidays)

NHS Professionals require a pro-active and hardworking catering assistant to work within the catering department at Pinderfields Hospital.

We have an ongoing placement opportunity available for a catering assistant at Pinderfields Hospital. Catering assistants are responsible for cooking food in NHS hospitals and other services making sure our patients and staff have highly nutritious, high-quality food.

You'll work with the catering manager to make sure that food and drink is nutritious and appetising. The food must meet patients' medical and cultural needs including, for example, gluten free, low fat, soft food, halal, and vegetarian.

**Your duties will include but are not limited to**:

- The hygienic handling of food products
- Provide a food service to wards and the staff restaurant
- Serving patient/staff meals
- Taking and recording of food temperatures
- General cleaning of kitchen
- Complying with health and safety regulations

**Skills required**:

- Needs to be physically fit
- Level 2 Food Safety certificate is desirable
- Awareness of food hygiene and food safety
- Basic literacy and numeracy
- Previous experience of working in a commercial catering environment
