We are looking for an Underwriter, Downstream Oil & Gas, based in London.
**Your Team**
The Downstream Energy Team is part of the wider Energy & Construction Team in London. Our team of 8 is committed to providing an environment where you will have a sense of belonging whilst continuing to develop your skills and gain experience within one of the most respected insurance companies globally. **The Impact You Will Have**
Reporting to the Underwriting Team Leader, you will join the team as an Underwriter. The role will focus on operational Downstream Energy risks within the wider Energy and Construction Team. You will also have the opportunity to look at Power and Onshore Renewables which is also underwritten in the team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about driving and developing a customer centric culture at Allianz Commercial.
**Some of your specific responsibilities could include**:
- Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet financial targets
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and participation with brokers
- Manage capacity and assess Natural Catastrophe Accumulation
- Adhere to LoB governance framework and ensure contract certainty
- Utilize global pricing tools and secure FAC Reinsurance placements
- Ensure accurate policy documentation and file maintenance
- Support business acquisition and retention efforts, including client and broker negotiations
**What You’ll Bring to the Role**
- Proven track record in profitable business underwriting within LoB with a minimum of 3 years' experience.
- Demonstrated relationships with brokers at peer group level.
- Robust understanding of LoB products and portfolio.
- Familiarity with regional and local LoB insurance markets and competitors.
- Knowledgeable about legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience navigating complex, global matrix organisations.
