Materials Scientist

An innovative pharmaceutical company is currently recruiting for a Materials Scientist to join its Product Development team based in Skegness, on a permanent basis. As Materials Scientist, you will plan and carry out investigations into new products, newtechnologies, services, and disruptive new solutions to serve the businesses customers. This is an exciting opportunity for a degree educated Scientist with either academic or industrial materials experience to join a rapidly growing business - working withnext generation technology.
**Materials Scientist Responsibilities**
- Provide specific materials expertise on a range of opportunities, including plastic reduction, irradiation compatibility, recyclability, and new têxtile/plastics technology
- Plan and conduct experiments based around innovative solutions
- Carry out initial phase research in support of key Stakeholders and Customer requirements
- Provide cost, technical and feasibility analysis data in support of commercial business cases
- Record and analyse data
- Work with the Group Product Managers to facilitate the initial phase research of a new product or service
- Write research papers, reports, reviews and summaries
- Operate laboratory and small pilot materials production line, including varied materials synthesis.
- Regular reports and presentations to the team and management.
- Improve and assist in installation and maintenance of materials production equipment.
**Materials Scientist Requirements**
- Practical experience (academic or industrial) in experimental materials synthesis/production.
- Proficient on lab-scale materials synthesis techniques (powder materials).
- Improve and assist in installation and maintenance of materials production equipment.
- Experience in working independently running experiments and production runs.
