**JOB DESCRIPTION- ASV Gym & Sports Team**

**1. INTRODUCTION**

**1.2 JOB TITLE**: Astley Sports Village (ASV) Sports Assistant

**1.3 JOB PURPOSE**:To form anintegral part of the Astley Sports Village team sharing that ultimate drive & passion to engage our community in high quality health, fitness & sport. To support the business development plans and also the day to day operation of the facility. To deliver high quality, safe & effective customer service in relation to the delivery of health and fitness programs, fitness classes & support the facility operational efficiency to our community club bookings. To always work within health & safety guidelines, safeguarding expectations & professional conduct at all times.

**1.4 Line Management**: Reporting to - Director Of Stamford Park Trust Sport, Community & Leisure

Responsible for - No line manager responsibility

**1.5 Liaising With**: Director of Stamford Park Trust Sport, Community & Leisure, ASV Staff, Stamford Park Trust Employees along with external agencies and clubs.

**1.6 Salary Scale**: Band D SCP 7 - 10

**1.7 Working Time**: 30 hour per week evenings and weekend, year round

**2. Duties and Responsibilities**

The duties listed below together with other such duties falling within the remit of the post as may be required.

2.1 Ensure that the Sports Village operates effectively in line with all current policies and procedures and to ensure vigilance in providing a safe and efficient environment at all times with customer care at the heart of all operations.

2.2 Ensure all health and safety standards are assured through the understanding and implementation of Normal operating procedures and Emergency action plans.

2.3 Open up and close down the facility as and when required in line with the Normal Operating procedures and guidance.

2.4 Carry out reception duties including membership and booking administration, use of the membership IT system, cashing up procedures and payment transactions from customers and members.

2.5 Ensure that all activities, events and programmes are effectively managed with regards to punctuality and setting up / dismantling of equipment.

2.7 To communicate with customers and to demonstrate, instruct and encourage the safe & appropriate exercise program for the client whilst setting out a tailor made exercise regime to maximise client results and overall member retention.

2.8 To take a pro-active role in membership sales, retail sales and member retention, delivering high quality show rounds and taking customers through the membership pricing structure.

2.9 Respond to customer enquiries regarding the fitness suite, memberships and facility bookings.

2.10 Undertake and support the delivery of fitness classes as part of the ongoing class programme. This will include a range of on-site and online based classes. This includes the timely setting up of the classes, understanding & ability to work with the technology required both at the time of the class but also post class customer feedback & engagement through tools such as the MYZONE app.

2.11 Undertake and support our half term children’s sports camps through coaching, setting up of equipment and supervision along with the delivering of coaching sessions for children’s birthday parties as and when required.

2.12 Ensure exemplary hygiene and cleaning standards are maintained in accordance with the Sports Village cleaning rota. Maintain a litter free environment in all areas of the sports village and report faults and breakages as soon as possible when they occur.

2.13 Understand and carry out safety and emergency procedures including administering of first aid and relevant procedures in response to incidents and accidents.

2.14 To deliver the safe & effective exercise delivery to key special population schemes and client groups in line with qualifications including; GP Referral, Over50’s, Specific Medical Condition Groups, Mental Health Support Groups and also our young people’s Gym clubs & in-house sporting activities.

**3. Corporate Responsibilities**

3.1 Attend training courses and regular team meetings as directed by the Director of Stamford Park Trust Sport, Community & Leisure

3.2 Ensure high levels of professional conduct at all times with particular reference to punctuality, uniform, presentation and uphold the positive public image of Astley Sports Village at all times.

3.3 Carry out promotional activities as directed by the Manager of Astley Sports Village.

3.4 Carry out all duties with full regard to Astley Sports Villages health and safety policies and procedures.
