**Job Title: Early Years Trainer**

**Hours: 37.5 per week**

**Pay Scale: TBC**

**Responsible to: Curriculum and Quality Manager**

**About the Role**:
In this role you will have an opportunity to:

- Provide an outstanding learner experience through teaching, training, reviewing, and assessing learners, enabling timely achievement in all qualifications.
- Provide teaching, learning and assessment.
- Support learners with End Point Assessment preparation and ensure timely achievement.

**Role Responsibilities**:
1. **Teaching, Learning and Assessment**
- Participate in the interviewing, enrolment/activation, and induction of learners.
- Teach and assess on a range of FE Early Years programmes as required by the Curriculum and Quality Manager
- Prepare and deliver teaching of whole or parts of taught units in Early Years: this will include preparation of teaching material; delivery of lectures, seminars, tutorials, and group work; assessment and marking of mock assessments.
- Provide assessment and learning whether in a classroom, a workshop, an employer’s location, or other work environment.
- Complete regular progress reviews with a caseload of apprentices, in the workplace with the learner and employer.
- Prepare schemes of work, lesson assessment & IV plans.
- Participate in the development of existing and new course programmes and to assume responsibility for areas of work as appropriate.
- Provide ongoing assessment and feedback to learners by setting and marking work both relevant and appropriate to the course, including in the workplace where required.
- Provide appropriate academic and/or vocational support to individual learners, referring them, where appropriate, to other agencies.
- Contribute to the wider enrichment of learners and support students’ pastoral needs.
- Contribute to the maintenance of an effective, efficient, and professional learning environment.
- Ensure resource material and teaching reflect best practice, contributing to the quality of provision as measured by retention, attendance, success rates, grades and value added.
- Participate in appropriate quality assurance procedures.
- Prepare learners for a range of accreditation and assessments including EPA.
- Maintain accurate and detailed student records including the writing of reports and references.
- Set and monitor Personal Targets and e-ILPs according to Global Skill’s policies.
- To track the progression of learners, including workplace reviews, to ensure timely achievement.
- Provide specialist advice to learners and organisations regarding vocational and work-based qualifications, delivery, and progression options.
- Participate in open evenings, recruitment, trade events, conferences, and other marketing events.

**2. Additional Duties**

- Be responsible for Safeguarding, Prevent, and promoting the welfare of learners
- Undertake such additional duties as may be reasonably required commensurate with the level of responsibility within the organisation.
- Promote and conduct your professional duties and responsibilities within the parameters of Global Skill’s agreed values and aims.

**3. Mandatory Duties**
- Responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

- Working within a team within Childcare sector (A/I)

- Essential Criteria:

**Qualifications**

Essential Criteria:

- L5 Early Years Qualification (A)
- GCSE English & Maths at C grade or above (or equivalent) (A)
- Desirable Criteria:

- Teaching qualification (CTLLS/ Cert Ed / PGCE) (A)
- Assessors award (A)
- Verifiers Award (A)
- Recognised qualification at level 4 or higher in Early Years (A)
