The Catering Assistant understands their role as an ambassador for Waddesdon and displays pride in our products, services and delivery of exceptional customer service. As part of the team, you will effortlessly help our guests throughout their visit by maintaining the highest level of product knowledge and customer service.

**Key responsibilities**:
**Customer Service**
- Greet visitors and make them feel welcome by proactively engaging and interacting with them for a seamless positive experience.
- Offer assistance and respond to visitor queries about the food and drinks menu by ensuring your product and stock knowledge is kept up to date.
- Provide recommendations according to the visitors’ needs.
- Deliver a true and honest visitor experience by treating guests as you yourself would like to be treated.

**Daily Operation**
- You will follow all the necessary processes to keep the catering areas running smoothly.
- Make great tasting tea and coffee for which training will be provided
- Efficiently operate all POS systems enabling you to support visitors with sales, exchanges and returns in accordance with Accounts and PCI compliance standards,
- Support the management team with stock control, stock management and loss prevention.
- You will ensure the catering and till areas are well presented at all times in line with hygiene standards
- Help merchandise stock in line with our brand guidance and KPIs
- Ensure stock items are stored correctly, and all display areas are fully stocked.
- Ensure all items are priced correctly
- Identify any stock going out of date and ensure stock is rotated accordingly.
- All staff are expected to observe The Rothschild Foundations policy and practices for the protection and improvement of the environment, and to ensure the security of equipment and buildings.

**Personal**
- You are expected to be punctual, dressed appropriately and adhere to the standards of appearance.
- You are also expected to attend all training sessions and have read all necessary policy documents, viz Health & Safety, Fire, Hygiene, etc. A knowledge of Waddesdon Manor, the Grounds, and the Five Arrows Hotel is expected, and all company policy as laid out in the Manual.

**Desirable**
- Barista experience would be beneficial, as this is core part of the job role, although training will be provided

**Terms & Conditions**:
**Contract Type**:Seasonal casual

**Salary**:
£10.42 per hour for over 18 year old

£8.93 per hour for 17 year old

£6.83 per hour for 16 year old

Double pay for working Bank Holidays

**Hours**: Main Season (March to October) opening times of 10am to 5pm

Winter Season (Nov to Jan) 12pm to 7pm to accommodate light displays
