**The Red House Day Nursery **are seeking to appoint a Nursery Cook who is passionate about cooking and working as part of a team The heartbeat of our Nursery is our team and an important part of that team is our Nursery Cook, who provides nutritious and healthy meals for the children under our care. Within this crucial role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food for all children and staff across the nursery.

**Main responsibilities include**:

- To prepare and cook nutritionally balanced meals, appropriate for under
- fives in accordance with the nursery’s nutritional guidance.
- Provide meals for staff who are on duty
- Follow a four weekly menu, including some recipe cards.
- Following SFBB and ensuring a well organised and clean kitchen.
- Washing up & cleaning away after meals.
- To liaise with nursery staff regarding children’s specific dietary and allergen requirements
- Provide special meals for events, such as Halloween tea, Christmas lunch (provided to the children instead of that days usual menu)
- To maintain a safe, clean, and healthy kitchen environment, periodically deep clean the kitchen.
- To contribute ideas to menu planning ensuring the children receive a healthy nutritionally balanced, multi-cultural diet.
- To adhere to all Nursery policies and procedures
- To always meet health and safety and environmental health requirements

**Requirements and skills**:

- level 2/3 food & hygiene qualification is desirable but not essential
- Be passionate about preparing fresh, balanced, nutritious meals
- Organised individual who enjoys working on their own, takes pride in producing quality meals.

(30 hours per week), Monday to Friday 9.00am to 3.00pm
