We would like to appoint a Maternity Support Worker (MSW) to assist qualified midwives in the care of women in our Antenatal Clinic and Screening department.

The post holder will carry out area specific tasks which will include; routine observations, phlebotomy, supporting the running of the clinic and data collection for KPI reporting.

The post holder will act as members of the maternity team and will work under the supervision and guidance of registered midwives and other professional staff

The post holders will report to the band 7 team leader. Weekend work will be required on a rotational basis and some shift work.

**Base Location**: Royal Bournemouth or Poole Hospital, please note you will be required to work across site.

The Maternity Service is currently based across two sites, delivers over 4500 women per annum and is the centre for high risk care across East Dorset. Based on the Poole site is the Central Delivery Suite which has 8 birthing rooms, 2 obstetric theatres, a 2 bedded Maternity High Dependency Unit and 3 bedded recovery area. We have a 16 bed postnatal ward, 8 bed Transitional Care ward as well as an outpatient facility for antenatal clinic and antenatal day assessment. Our Outpatient and Community services are based across both Poole and Bournemouth sites.

For a Band 3 role, we would expect that the post holder will have experience in maternity care. We would however consider applicants without maternity experience as full training and support will be given.
