On August 1st, 2023, City College Southampton, Eastleigh College and Fareham College will merge to form the South Hampshire College Group*. This merger represents an exciting opportunity for the region’s students, offering defined pathways into employment, with employers benefiting from a more joined up approach that will create work ready employees aligned to the region’s growth agenda as well as a fresh start for all staff by embedding best practice, resources and cultures that will deliver an outstanding college. The merged group (who will all retain their campus names) will have a turnover of around £42 million and employ over 800 staff. Annually, the group would be responsible for the education and training of more than 3,600 students aged 16-19, over 1,200 apprentices and over 5,000 adults.

We are looking for an ambitious, aspiring leader who will lead the Fareham College Campus as Vice Principal. The role of Vice Principal will be integral to the success of the campus and will work closely with the Vice Principals of Eastleigh College and City College Southampton to allow the Group to meet its shared vision of:

- A better distributed, accessible, and collaborative group of Solent Colleges.
- To provide outstanding education and training across a wide community of students and employers in the Solent region.
- Support the skills needs of employers and improve regional productivity, economic development and social mobility.
- Be an agile organisation, constantly developing and improving.
- Be responsive to policy and reforms in further education and be adaptive to the changing needs of the region’s employers.

As Vice Principal you will lead on the implementing the ambitious Curriculum Strategy with the creation of ‘Centres of Excellence’ through a better distributed, accessible and sustainable Further Education offer, this is to be supported with strategic investment in estate and facilities to increase participation in and benefit from professional and technical education.
